Just recently, I attended a seminar at work hosted by the American Cancer Society stressing the importance of sun protection. I must admit, I don’t do as well wearing sun screen as I should, and I’m trying hard to do better about that. I’m particularly fair skinned, so it doesn’t take much for me to get a burn. Another thing they discussed was wearing lip balm which includes SPF, too. That’s something I’d really never thought about! So I was very pleased when Carmex sent me a set of their Carmex Sticks to review and found that they include SPF 15!
I’ve long been a Carmex fan. I use the jars, sticks, and lotions. The pack they sent included the newest flavor of their Camex Sticks: pomegranate. I didn’t think I’d ever find a flavor I liked better than lime, but I love pomegranate. It tastes amazing. The Carmex Sticks have an ultra-moisturizing formula that I really like. I love how smooth my lips feel when using Carmex. I don’t know about you, but I use lip balm basically all year round. Winter will be here before we know it, and that’s when I tend to use it even more. I’m planning to use my six sticks Carmex has provided for some time.
One winner will receive a prize pack just like the one I received. It includes six Carmex Sticks in a variety of flavors: original, cherry, strawberry, vanilla, lime twist, and the new pomegranate flavor. It also includes a cute Carmex beach tote!
This giveaway is open to US residents 18 years of age and older and ends at 5PM CST on 8/20. Many thanks to Carmex for sponsoring this giveaway.
I’m happy to be part of the Carmex Blogger Outreach program. Carmex provided me with a set like the prize set to facilitate my review, but that did not influence my review in any way. All opinions are my own.
I don’t know about where you live, but here in central IL right now, it already feels like winter. There was some spitting snow when I was driving to work this morning. It was kind of sad. While there are countless things to love about winter, one of the things I’m not so crazy about when it comes to winter is the way my skin dries out. My love for Carmex lip balm is well documented, but I’d never tried any of their lotions or creams before. Carmex graciously provided me with a nice set to try: Carmex Healing Lotion, Carmex Healing Cream, Travel size Carmex Healing Lotion, and Travel size Carmex Healing Cream.
The healing lotion line is intended for daily use, and it has aloe and vitamin E. The healing cream helps to repair drier, rougher skin. I’ve been using the lotion primarily on my hands and the cream on my elbows. My elbows are the worst. They’re usually pretty rough and dry and just awful. And the cold weather just makes them even worse. So far, I like the healing cream. The weather hasn’t gotten bad enough for my elbows to be terrible, but I plan to keep up with the cream to see if it keeps my elbows from getting as bad as they usually do in the winter time.
The lotion is very nice, too. It’s smooth and smells great. I plan to keep up with the lotion, too.
Carmex has been kind enough to offer one of my readers a package just like the one I received. The winner will get:
1 Carmex Healing Lotion
1 Carmex Healing Cream
1 Travel size Carmex Healing Lotion
1 Travel size Carmex Healing Cream

As you may know, October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. This entire month, Freschetta has been supporting breast cancer research. Specially marked packages of Freschetta products contain a code, and for each code entered at Proud to Support Pink they’re donating $1, up to $50,000 to the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center! They’re also donating 50 pink iPod Shuffles each week to four cancer centers around America for the enjoyment of cancer patients receiving treatment. You can also enter to win a pink iPod Shuffle at Proud to Support Pink. But you can do a lot more at Proud to Support Pink. Find resources to promote breast cancer awareness, read or share survivor stories, and of course enter codes from participating products to help Freschetta reach their $50,000 goal.
If you’ve never had Freschetta pizza, may I suggest you give it a try? You can get a coupon for $1 off any pizza 14oz or more. Freschetta uses only real cheeses and premium meats, and I have to say, we have never been disappointed with the quality of Freschetta.
Freschetta was kind enough to provide me with two pairs of Freschetta Proud to Support Pink headphones and a coupon for a free Freschetta pizza, 12oz or larger. One pair of the headphones was for me, another for a friend or family member. One lucky reader is going to win a prize package exactly like mine, courtesy of Freschetta. I gave the other pair of headphones to my sister-in-law who is a breast cancer survivor. If you win, who would you give the second pair of headphones to? Entry is simple! Just fill out the form below before 5pm CST on 10/31. The winner will be picked randomly from all qualifying entries. This giveaway is open to US residents 18 years of age and older. On Saturday, Sept 24, participating museums across the country will be opening their doors to Museum Day ticket holders for free! Find your nearest participating museum, and request a free ticket. There’s a limit of one ticket per household, and the ticket is good for two free admissions. Additional guests will have to pay the full admission price. Your ticket is good for general admission only. If there are other exhibits you’d like to see, you’ll have to pay the admission price for those. Museum admissions can be very expensive, so this is a great way to visit on a budget!
Do you plan on attending a museum for Museum Day?

Inbox Dollars is a great way to make a little extra “mad money” for fairly little effort. You get paid for doing things like watching videos, reading emails, taking surveys, and shopping online. There is also a $5 bonus just for signing up. I’ve made about $20 so far, and I’ve only been a member for a few months. So you won’t get rich from it, but a little extra spending money never hurt, right? You do have to have $30 to request payment. It’s completely free to join, so check it out and see what you think.

It’s so hard to believe it’s already been ten years. I will never forget watching the tragedy unfold in the first floor of my dorm.

Finally! CVS has made their official corporate coupon policy available online! Print it out and keep it with your coupons, just in case you have any issues in store. There’s really nothing surprising in it. One manufacturer coupon and one CVS coupon per item. No overage. I wish all stores would release their coupon policy.
